Meet Erica
I’m Erica, a speech-language pathologist and lactation consultant specializing in infant and pediatric feeding.
Since 2009, I’ve helped families navigate one of the most foundational parts of early development—feeding—with care, confidence, and connection.
As a mom of five—including twins who are NICU graduates and a late preterm rainbow baby—I understand firsthand the confusion, worry, and exhaustion that can come with feeding challenges. My goal is to make this part of your journey feel less overwhelming—and a lot more hopeful.

My Focus Today
My practice centers on helping infants with breastfeeding and bottle feeding challenges, tongue and lip ties, and difficulties transitioning to solids.
I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Speech-Language Pathologist with advanced training in reflexes, posture, movement, oral motor function, the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding and I am a graduate of the Feed the Peds program. I also have a background in orofacial myofunctional therapy—which provides me a unique perspective when helping infants learn to eat, breathe, and sleep more comfortably.
Whether your baby is learning to latch, struggling with bottles, or just starting solids, I’m here to make sure you have the guidance and reassurance you need along the way.

Training and Certifications

How I Found my Calling
I earned my bachelor’s degrees in Communication Disorders and Sciences and Psychology from the University of Oregon, and my master’s degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Tennessee State University.
I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and am a three-time recipient of ASHA’s Award for Continuing Education—recognizing a deep commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.
My early career began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where I supported parents and their preterm infants through neurodevelopmental care and first time feedings. Witnessing the impact of early feeding support inspired me to advocate for a dedicated neonatal therapy team—a program I helped build in 2016. I later became one of the first four speech-language pathologists in Oregon to earn Neonatal Therapy Certification.
These experiences continue to guide my work today: combining evidence-based practice with empathy and collaboration to give families the best start possible.
My Philosophy
At Be Nourished, my mission is simple: to empower parents with knowledge and compassionate care from the very beginning.
When families understand how feeding develops, they gain confidence, reduce stress, and often prevent the challenges I see later in childhood. I believe every parent deserves clear guidance, consistent support, a reminder that they’re doing their best—and that they’re not alone.
Together, we can make feeding one of the moments that nourishes both you and your baby.
